INFORMATION
General description
It is distinguished by its large size, generally between 3 and 4 m, reaching up to 6.1 m.
It has a remarkably elongated snout with teeth.
Its back is grayish, it has fringes and dark spots, the belly has no markings.
It has a muscular and thick tail.
It is a large species that in adulthood can reach between three and four meters in length.
These predators are of great ecological importance, since they are at the top of the food chain.
Habitat
The crocodile is mainly found in coastal habitats, both in water sweet and salty, but its ability to adapt has allowed it to extend to large rivers, swamps, lakes, lower parts of large rivers and other types of wetlands.
Diet
It feeds on birds and all kinds of vertebrates, including mammals of large size that hunts by surprise when they come to drink water.
