A simple animal refuge. Animals seemed happy. The place is clean. Only saw 2 monkeys. Mostly birds. Takes about 1 hour to visit the refuge. There is a guided tours every few hours. Call ahead to get the schedule. The entrance fee covers the cost of the food, care and medicine for the animals. We enjoyed the park.

The people at the monkey park are helping the animals not taking advantage of them and they should be supported by visiting the site and making donation

Went on a tour with one of the guides at the monkey park rehabilitation center and it was touching to see the passion that the staff have for the animals. It was reassuring to know that although I am seeing animals in captivity, they have been rescued from dier situations and if possible will be reintegrated into the wild! The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly, caring and spoke good English. We felt like the staff went to the full extent to explain each animal and give a background on why they ended up there. There are a number of species there and they are in need of more funding to increase their rehabilitation efforts so don't hesitate to visit for a more than fair price of around 20 USD for a tour! You will not regret it and it is only half hour from Tamarindo which is much closer than almost any wildlife excursion!

Small out of the way sanctuary rescuing animals seized for illegal pets. Help them by taking the tour, it's the only way they get fund to support the effort. Perfect for kids, friendly staff!
