Reservation, Payment & Cancellation Policies

Introduction

APAMI Wildlife Rescue Center is a non-profit foundation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of wildlife in Costa Rica. Through our volunteer programs, internships, educational visits, and corporate activities, we aim to promote environmental education and generate sustainable support for our operations.
The following policies ensure responsible resource management and clear communication between participants and the foundation.

Reservations

All reservations must be made through the official form or authorized communication channels of the corresponding program and will be confirmed by the APAMI coordination team.


A reservation is considered effective once the full payment has been received. All reservations and tours must be paid in full at the time of booking. In the event of a cancellation, only 50% of the total amount paid for reservations and tours will be refunded. Refunds are processed to the same card used for the original purchase.


It is recommended to make your reservation at least 7 days before the desired date.


The proof of payment must be sent to the contact channel used for the corresponding reservation.
For the issuance of an electronic invoice, please provide:

  • Full name or company name
  • Legal ID or identification number
  • Email address
  • Phone number and physical address

Payments

Payments are accepted in U.S. dollars (USD) or Costa Rican colones (CRC), calculated at the official exchange rate of Banco Nacional de Costa Rica (BN) valid at the time of payment.

Transfers or SINPE payments must be made in advance to ensure they are received before arrival.


Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. In the event of a cancellation, 50% of the total amount paid will be refunded to the same card used for the original purchase.

 

For programs that include lodging, a refundable security deposit of $200 USD (or its equivalent in colones) will be requested. This amount will be refunded in cash at the end of the stay if no property damage or rule violations are reported.

 

All payments are considered direct contributions to the rescue, rehabilitation, and care of wildlife; therefore, they are non-refundable, except in exceptional cases duly justified and evaluated by the administration.

Cancellations and Refunds

All reservations and tours require full payment at the time of booking. In the event of a cancellation, 50% of the total amount paid will be refunded to the same card used for the original purchase.


Failure to appear on the scheduled date or early withdrawal from the program is considered a cancellation without the right to a refund.


In the event of a documented medical emergency or force majeure, AWRC may offer a rescheduling or partial refund, depending on availability and case evaluation.


Failure to comply with safety protocols, internal rules, or respectful behavior toward staff, other participants, or animals will result in immediate termination of participation without the right to a refund.


APAMI is not responsible for external factors (weather, transportation, personal changes, or unforeseen events) that may affect the participation of a volunteer, visitor, or group.
