APAMI WILDLIFE RESCUE CENTER
BY MONKEY PARK FOUNDATION

Apami is a wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and release center dedicated to fostering awareness and promoting harmonious coexistence between wildlife and humans.

HISTORY

In the heart of Guanacaste’s lush beauty, Tamarindo, Costa Rica, an extraordinary dream was born that would change the destiny of local wildlife. In 2007, Vanessa Jarrin, driven by an unwavering passion for conservation, founded the Monkey Park Foundation and brought APAMI Wildlife Rescue Center to life.

Vanessa became a pioneer by establishing the first wildlife rehabilitation and release center in Costa Rica directed by a Costa Rican. Her motivation arose from facing the harsh reality of confiscated or injured wildlife in the Santa Cruz area, where no adequate shelter existed for their care and treatment.

Apami is more than just a refuge; it’s a steadfast commitment to wildlife and the community. Vanessa and her team have worked tirelessly to offer opportunities for those who wish to immerse themselves in nature, contribute to the welfare of wildlife, and participate in building projects that ensure the self-sustainability of the facilities.

The Monkey Park Culture and Natural Life Foundation is committed to managing and financing the Apami Wildlife Rescue Center. Our center’s financial stability relies on diverse sources of income, including visitor admissions, sponsorship programs, and donations.

Every contribution fuels our mission to safeguard and rehabilitate wildlife. With the unwavering support of our community, we are forging a sustainable future for local flora and fauna. Join us in actively preserving our beautiful biodiversity!
